On and in the OceanMost days the cove has calm waters that will invite you to take the stand up paddle board or sea kayak out for a cruise (life jackets provided in various adult and child sizes). With depths never reaching 20 feet for well over a mile out, you'll marvel at the beauty surrounding and beneath you.
For those a little more adventurous, the protected cays that rise straight out from the beach offer you the chance to have that deserted island beach day that you've fantasized about. The largest being Pigeon Cay at 1.3 miles out, is the highlight. Pack a lunch, your favorite beverages, and a camera for a memorable day. Just make sure you stay aware of the weather and wave conditions when setting out for the cays. Bring your snorkel gear and spend hours swimming around the rock out cropping on both ends of the cove where you can watch the colorful coral and small tropical fish. As mentioned above, the next beach over is a gorgeous stretch and easily accessed while snorkeling around the southeastern end of the cove or by car just down the main round about a half mile. |
