Flights
The Salt House is located on Little Exuma near the settlement of Forbes Hill. Connected to Great Exuma by a one-lane bridge known as The Ferry, the villa is a scenic 40 minutes from the Exuma International Airport outside in George Town, airport code GGT. GGT has direct jet connections from Atlanta, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Toronto, and Nassau. The small airport makes it easy and quick getting in and out. Below are the cities that have flights directly into Great Exuma (check their websites for schedule updates).
Rental Cars Once you arrive, we recommend that you get a rental car so you can explore Exuma. Our preferred is Thompson's Car Rental. Most rental companies have a presence at the Airport or will park your rental in the airport parking lot to make it convenient for you. Renters must be over 25 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and a major credit card.
Driving directions from the Airport to The Salt House A member of The Good Life Bahamas team will great you at the airport and escort you to the house and show you around the property (Note: We have paused airport greetings due to Covid-19 and will resume them at some point). In Exuma, you drive on the LEFT side of the road, so take extra care as you get used to the way you have to look left and right. The drive is about 40 minutes, but it goes pretty quick as there is a lot to see along the way. You won't have to wait long for your first glimpse of the ocean as it's less than 1 minute from the airport! After exiting the airport, you'll come to a traffic circle at the bottom of the hill. Head to the right (East) and follow the road into George Town. As you approach George Town, the road branches to the right and you'll head up a hill that takes you around the small Lake Victoria that is at the center of the town. Turn right at the next fork in the road to head to Little Exuma. From the airport, it's a little less than 20 minutes to George Town and about another 20 minutes to The Salt House. The drive is quite scenic in many parts as it winds along the oceanfront or between palm-lined sections (definitely picture worthy). The Ferry Bridge connects Little Exuma to Great Exuma. It is a one lane bridge (one lane total), so approach it slowly to check if there is another car already on the bridge heading your way. Likely there won't be, but take it slow and enjoy the views in all directions of the tidal waters, surrounding cays, and possibly locals fishing off the bridge. The Salt House is about 4 minutes past the bridge on the lefthand side of the road, just past the large Sandy Blue estate. Take note of these along your way:
